We’re gradually getting things together for our trip. It’s nice to have plenty of time to get organized, but I’m sure we’ll manage to forget something.
Last night we worked on killing off the huge pile of ja-ja men that I made the other day. I really went a little too far with quantity, and we ended up with two meals out of it. Tonight I think it will be Kuniko’s turn to cook, so it’ll be nice to have a break from the spicy noodles.
One of the things I’m going to bring on the trip is a mini-journal to write down my thoughts and notes from each day. I think we’ll have some time on the train here and there, so it seems like a good idea to write down a summary of our adventures as soon as possible. A long time ago on a trip to England and Scotland I did much the same thing, and it is fun to look through it now. It is amazing how some jotted notes is a notebook can bring back such vivid memories.
All right, I’m off to work. All I can say about that is thank god for air conditioning.
