Looks like the weather will be wet all week – I don’t mind so much, but I spend about 40 minutes a day walking to and from work, and so my shoes might be a little moist as a result. I’m with Kuniko – I don’t mind the rain, but the wind/rain combo is a little too much. The good news is that we’ll have sun on the weekend, and I guess that is probably for the best.
Kuniko’s parents came over on Sunday night, and they brought over an epic amount of vegetables. Five heads of lettuce, two heads of cabbage, and a bag of shiitake mushrooms that were huge – bigger than my head before we cut them up.
So in order to help whittle down the veggies we’ve declared it salad week. Starting last night it is a bowl or two of salad, along with some soup or leftovers. By the end of the week we’ll hopefully be done with all this lettuce and our digestion will be completely regular.
OK, I’m off to dress up like Fisherman Gorton and then I’m on the road. A couple of links on Japan that I found interesting yesterday:
Hollywood movies move to dubbing in Japan
This one just kills me. I understand it is a pain in the ass for Japanese people to read subtitles, but watching Johnny Depp speaking in an old Japanese guy’s over-dramatic voice is ridiculous. They should be as non-intrusive as possible, right?
Interesting article on Japan, the English language, and corporate culture
Although not from the most unbiased of sources, kind of an interesting take.
