Friday night I went out with some students for all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and all-you-can-drink alcohol. As you might expect, we over-indulged in just about everything… beef, pork, and even all-you-can-eat crab. The crab was the first time for me – usually you have to pay by the amount you eat, so this time it was damn the torpedoes and go for it.<\/p>\n
After dinner we went over to the New York for some cocktails. There was a little problem when I asked the waitress which Laphroaig they had behind the bar, and I ended up just getting a glass which turned out to be a pretty nice one. Before I realized my students had split up the big bill, and unfortunately everyone had to share the price on the bill. So, next time I’m buying. <\/p>\n
Saturday and Sunday were pretty mellow. Saturday I stayed home and cleaned house, cooked Thai food for dinner and Sunday I took a short hike from Okubo to Akashi, and then came back and barbecued pork and onions to go with a salad for dinner. Both days Kuniko was working, so she is a very tired worker this morning. Today she’s got another big day at work, but Tuesday she has the afternoon off. <\/p>\n
I’ve got a big day – more on that later – but this week should be a pretty normal week. Next weekend is also a big one – two parties at our house, both of them will be Mexican food so that is something to look forward to.
