At work we are slowly progressing towards the end of the course for my students. \u00a0My group lessons for new employees will finish in the middle of next week, and my one on one classes will finish the week after that. \u00a0That means progressively fewer classes but also more paperwork as I wrap things up for each student. \u00a0But it is good news, and it means that we’re starting to recruit new students for the next term starting April 1st.<\/p>\n
Kuniko spent the day at home yesterday, but when I arrived it was clear that she didn’t just lay around. \u00a0The house was spotless, the laundry was done, and dinner was ready. \u00a0I don’t think she has figured out the concept of convalescence quite yet. \u00a0I urged her to get some rest, but I’m not sure it is in her nature.<\/p>\n
During our stay in Bali last winter I introduced Kuniko to the rules of chess. \u00a0We played a couple of games in Bali, and during her hospital stay we played again. \u00a0I left her the ipad so that she could play the computer, and I think she’s hooked. \u00a0It is a lot of fun to play chess with a real, live person instead of software. \u00a0Last night we played two games before bed, and I can’t help but be reminded of playing chess in college with my friend Chuck Hyde. \u00a0 He was a damn good chess player, too. \u00a0I think it is just a matter of time before Kuniko starts beating me regularly as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
