The stakes aren\u2019t always end of the world, but the character writing and the introduction of new characters seems to keep things fresh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual there is plenty of witty dialogue, that is clever and funny. Sometimes it is a little over the top but it seems to be in service to the characters, and is plenty entertaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m enjoying these books as fast-moving distractions, and I think there are still a few left in the series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is anything to complain about it might be the author\u2019s reliance on the cliffhanger, which in turn relies on the reader not being able to see the situation, only read about it. Some events in this particular book couldn\u2019t be done without this trick &#8211; it\u2019ll be interesting to see if they can adapt it to the TV series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next I am reading Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This series is really good.
