Today is Kuniko’s 31st birthday, and we are off to celebrate after work. Before that happens, we both have a full day of classes to teach, and I have a meeting with my staffing company people to talk about the next phase of my teaching at Kawasaki. It will no doubt be a long day before we can pull into Sigassiga and relax.
Last night we had some hamburg that Kuniko cooked up for dinner (mainly as a method to kill the demi-glace sauce that was leftover from the other night) and then spent the evening watching some Olympics and eating some homemade chocolates that Kuniko had received from her students. She always scores good stuff around graduation time – today I’m taking some sekihan to work as my lunch, and we also got some manju to munch on.
I was a little bummed out to find that I won’t be able to watch Olympic hockey in Japan. There is no Japanese team, so it won’t get any coverage on our TV channels. Unfortunately there is a Japanese curling team, so we got more than an hour of curling coverage last night. Ugh.
OK, I’m out the door and kicking off the weekend – more updates after the dust settles….
