It is midweek in the Fredricks household, and we’re hoping to get a little bonus time tomorrow to take care of some house stuff. The company that is going to be providing the internet, phone and TV will be dropping by to offer our builder some advice and make it easy to install. The don’t want the installer to do any work before they officially finish with the house – they want the house to be “as is” when they hand over the key to make the warranty/guarantee easy to manage. It makes sense, but we didn’t want to be waiting around with no internet/TV/phone for three weeks. This is our kind of happy compromise.
Kuniko and I will go over to the house tomorrow afternoon and sit in on the meeting between the tech guy and the builder, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the inside of the house. I haven’t been in a little while, and it seems like there is always dramatic progress every time I go over.
Tonight is pretty quiet. I’m listening to Widespread Panic, drinking some port wine and I’ve got a port filet marinating in the fridge. I made some garlic mashed potatoes to go with it, and I’m just waiting for Kuniko to get home. I’ve had almost the whole day off, but most of the time was used up writing student evaluations. Classes will be coming to an end in the next month or so, and I’ve got lots of extra paperwork to wrap things up.
