Rare Sunny Day

It was a weird weather weekend, but luckily we were able to plan things well and get what we needed done on the right days. Saturday it was sprinkling rain in the morning – and we headed into Kobe to do some shopping. We got the things we needed, and then headed into Sannomiya to dig around for information as well as score some Thai food at Baan Thai. Actually, it was the first time we’ve been there since getting back from Bangkok, and it was very good. There was interesting crowd of people – an old guy with a horrible wig ordering enough food for an army, and then leaving most of it there when he left, an a group of American and British ex-pats that bitterly discussed inter-cultural relations.

As it happened Sunday was hot and sunny, so we stayed home and did load after load of laundry. Everybody else in the neighborhood was doing the same – which shows you how long it has been since we’ve had decent weather. For dinner I grilled up some mushrooms, zucchini and eggplant, and Kuniko did some school work before we finally hit the hay. A very relaxing day.

This week I should be able to wrap up the itinerary that I’ve been working on for our trip. Also at the end of the week Kuniko has an overnight study camp to attend with her students, so I’ll need to figure out how to stay out of trouble on Thursday and Friday night… hmmm….
