I downloaded and watched “Superbad” last weekend. I had heard it was a funny movie, and since it will come out in Japan in about ten years I decided to check it out. I hadn’t seen any commercials and knew nothing about the movie.
My short review – it was great. It was like a huge shot of American culture, at a time when I’ve been kind of down on American pop culture. I could see how scenes from the movie would resonate with young people – there was some really funny scenes involving sex, alcohol and law enforcement. Some of the characters reminded me of my own high school days, which were pretty similar to main characters of the movie, except for all the hot girls and booze.
I know I’m late to the party with Superbad, but I’m getting used to it living in Japan.
