This week is moving along pretty well, and the weather seems to have settled into a fall feeling. We’ve been able to shut off the air conditioning at night, which makes for a much different sleeping experience. We’re still tired in the morning, but the constant AC isn’t around to dry out the room.
Actually, fall is my favorite season in Japan – but because of the extra-long summer it looks like it will be a very short autumn. We’ll try to squeeze in all the fall activities we can before it starts to get really cold around here.
Last night the prime minister of Japan was able to fight off a challenge from within his own party to keep the job. It should be interesting to see how this changes the path that he is taking now. Probably no direct effect for me at the moment, but possibly in the future things could change (for the better). The bad thing about Japanese politics is that they move at a glacial pace, so we won’t see the effects of any changes now for years to come. Bleh.
